Gone are the days of mundane green spaces. Enter a world where artificial grass redefines aesthetics and functionality. While this guide can serve as a valuable starting point to help you understand the artificial grass installation process, we highly advise seeking expert assistance when installing artificial grass in Perth.
Here’s what you need:
Materials:
Tools:
Begin by clearing the concrete surface of any debris, weeds, or existing grass. Use a stiff bristle brush to remove dirt and ensure a clean area for installation.
Once concrete is clean start to drill holes in concrete with Power or battery drill with 10mm masonry drill bit at every 500/1m centres pending on the area of the concrete. These holes will allow water to escape the underside of the artificial grass and prevent mould and deterioration of the artificial grass. Remove all dust once drilling is completed.
Carefully unroll the artificial grass over the prepared surface. Allow the grass to acclimate to the surroundings for a few hours. Then, use a utility knife to cut the turf to fit your area, leaving a slight overlap for trimming later.
If your installation area requires multiple pieces of artificial grass, use seam tape to join the sections. Make sure the stitches are parallel before joining to ensure a seamless connection for a natural look. Then, secure the grass and edges with adhesive.
For added stability and to keep the blades of grass upright, you can apply silica sand on top of the turf (10 kg per square metre). Use a power broom or hard bristle brush to distribute the sand evenly.
