Mandurah Forum Alfresco Dining Precinct
In mid 2026 Mandurah Forum opened its new Alfresco Dining Precinct. We were part of the team that delivered it, looking after the landscaping and coordinating with the other suppliers on site. The centre wanted an outdoor space where families would stay a little longer. Somewhere to grab a coffee, have lunch or take a break from shopping while the kids play within sight of the tables.
Designed around families
The centrepiece is a kids’ play zone with a rock pool theme, a nod to Mandurah’s coastal lifestyle. Our part was the landscaping around it, so the whole precinct feels like a place to sit and relax rather than somewhere you walk through on the way to the car park.
- Artificial grass on both sides of the main path, so families have a soft, clean place to sit and play all year round
- Curved steel-edged planter beds, mulched and planted with hardy coastal plants, framing the path and the seating
- Large feature rocks set through the beds and around the play area
- A bowl water feature set into the planting beside the seating
- New trees planted between the existing palms
- Coordinating the exposed aggregate path that runs through the middle of the precinct
Working on a commercial site
A shopping centre is a different job to a backyard. People are walking through all day, the businesses nearby still need to trade, and several suppliers are working in the same space. We coordinated with the other trades so each stage happened in the right order, kept the site safe and tidy, and kept the client updated on what was happening next. Nobody should have to chase us to find out where their project is at.
The finished precinct
There’s now lawn, planting and shade right in the middle of the centre. Parents can sit at the tables on the edge of the grass while the kids explore the play zone, and the curved beds and water feature give the space a relaxed, coastal feel.
