Getting the paving right around a pool is not the same as paving a driveway or courtyard.
The surface has to stay cool barefoot on a 40-degree Perth afternoon, resist chlorine splashback without staining, provide reliable grip when wet, and still look sharp for years to come.
Get the material wrong and you are replacing it within a decade.
We work with travertine, porcelain, and limestone, the three materials best suited to pool environments in Perth’s climate, and we handle everything from site preparation through to final clean-up.
No subcontracting, no surprises on the invoice.

Most outdoor paving has to handle foot traffic, weather, and the occasional spill. Pool paving has to do all of that plus deal with constant moisture, pool chemicals, and Perth’s brutal summer sun.
A surface that looks great in a showroom can turn into a slip hazard, a heat trap, or a chemical-stained mess once it is actually around a pool.
There are four things that matter most for pool surrounds specifically.
In Australia, pedestrian surface slip resistance is classified under AS 4586. For pool surrounds, the relevant rating is the Wet Barefoot Inclining Platform Test, which grades surfaces A, B, or C for barefoot wet conditions. Any paver we recommend for pool areas meets the required standard. Smooth-finish or polished pavers do not, regardless of how they look.
Dark-coloured or dense pavers absorb heat quickly in direct Perth sun. Travertine is particularly well suited here because its porous structure and light tones reflect rather than absorb heat, staying noticeably cooler underfoot than exposed aggregate or concrete. If your pool area gets full afternoon sun, material choice matters.
Brick and concrete pavers can experience efflorescence around pools, a white salt-like staining caused by chlorine and pool chemicals reacting with the material over time. Travertine and porcelain do not have this problem. Porcelain in particular is non-porous, so it does not absorb chemicals and does not require sealing.
Pool paving needs a correct fall away from the pool to drain water efficiently. This is built into the base preparation, not applied after the fact. Perth’s sandy soils also require thorough compaction before any paving goes down; without it, you will see sinking and shifting within a few years, especially in areas that get frequent water exposure.
We install three main materials for pool paving in Perth. Each has a different price point, look, and set of practical advantages.
Travertine is the most popular choice for Perth pool areas, and for good reason. It stays cooler underfoot than almost any other natural stone, provides natural slip resistance, does not discolour pool water, and develops a patina over time that gets better with age rather than worse.
It is available in silver, latte, and ivory tones, and works beautifully in French pattern layouts for a classic look.
Travertine is porous, so sealing every one to two years is recommended to protect against staining and UV exposure. That said, most Perth homeowners consider that a reasonable maintenance trade-off given how the material performs in heat.

Porcelain is the low-maintenance choice. It is non-porous, so it does not absorb chlorine or other pool chemicals and never requires sealing.
It is extremely durable, resistant to staining and scratching, and holds its appearance well over time.
If you want a contemporary, clean-lined finish and minimal ongoing upkeep, porcelain is worth the slightly higher price point.

Limestone is the most affordable option and still performs well around pools when installed correctly.
It has natural thermal properties that keep it reasonably cool underfoot and its textured surface provides good grip.
Limestone does need sealing to protect against chemical exposure and staining over time.
It is a solid choice for homeowners who want a natural-looking result at a lower price point, particularly for larger pool areas where material cost is a bigger factor.

We handle the full job from start to finish. That means:
We do not subcontract. The team that quotes the job is the team that does the work.

Pool paving costs in Perth vary depending on the material chosen, the size of the area, how much base preparation is required, and whether old paving or concrete needs to be removed first.
The final cost depends on the area size, paving pattern (French pattern requires more cuts and takes longer to install), the amount of base preparation needed, and whether demolition of existing concrete or paving is required.
The most accurate way to get a figure is a free on-site measure and quote. We come to you, assess the area properly, and give you a written price with no obligation.

We install pool paving across the full Perth metro area and surrounds, from Currambine and Joondalup in the north, south to Mandurah, east to the hills, and across the western suburbs including Fremantle, Melville, Booragoon, South Perth, Subiaco, Nedlands, and Claremont.
Travertine is the most popular choice for Perth pools. It stays cool underfoot in Perth’s summer heat, resists chlorine staining, provides natural slip resistance, and looks good for a long time with minimal maintenance. Porcelain is a strong alternative if you want a contemporary finish with zero sealing required.
Natural stone pool pavers, travertine and limestone, should be sealed every one to two years to protect against pool chemicals, staining, and UV fading. Porcelain does not need sealing at all. We can advise on the right sealing approach for whatever material you choose.
Sometimes, depending on the condition and height of the existing surface. We check this during the on-site quote. In most cases, removing the old concrete gives a better result because it lets us set the correct drainage fall and ensures the base is properly compacted for pool conditions.
Most residential pool paving jobs take two to four days, depending on the size of the area, how much existing concrete needs to come out, and the pattern being installed. We provide a clear timeline when we quote the job.
Yes. We install pool coping to match or complement your pool paving, bullnose, flat edge, or mitre depending on your pool shape and preference. Coping is quoted as part of the overall job.
Paving is more durable, lower maintenance, and generally more cost-effective than timber decking over the long term. Timber requires regular oiling or staining, can warp and splinter in Perth’s heat, and has a shorter lifespan around constant moisture. Pavers can be repaired or replaced individually without disturbing the surrounding area, which is a practical advantage timber cannot offer.
