Low Maintenance, Laid Properly
Porcelain pavers, supply and installation included: pavers, site prep, base work, installation, and clean-up. No subcontracting.
One of the better outdoor paving choices for Perth homes, especially pool surrounds, alfresco areas and anywhere that gets heavy use and harsh sun.
Installation is more demanding than other materials, which is why the installer matters.
Perth Landscape Guys installs porcelain pavers across the full Perth metro area, from Currambine to Mandurah.

Non-porous and low maintenance. It won’t absorb water, pool chemicals or staining, and it doesn’t need sealing every year the way travertine does.
A modern look, built to last. Large-format slabs, from 600x600mm up to 1200x600mm and beyond, in stone and concrete finishes that suit contemporary builds. Fewer joints, cleaner lines, a more consistent surface than natural stone.
Not right for every project. If you want the warmth of natural stone, travertine or limestone will suit you better. For low maintenance, durability and a modern finish together, it’s hard to beat.

Both materials are durable and both handle Perth summers well. The real differences are maintenance and installation, not heat performance, which is much the same between light-coloured options of either.
Travertine is porous limestone. It needs resealing every one to two years, or it marks from staining, pool chemicals and moisture. Porcelain needs none of that: wipe it down, hose it off, done. For a pool surround or a busy alfresco, that adds up over time.
The price difference between travertine and porcelain is often smaller than many homeowners expect. When you also consider the ongoing maintenance and sealing required for travertine, porcelain can be the more cost-effective option over the long term.

Porcelain needs more care during installation:
Done properly, it lasts decades. Done badly, it shows fast, which is why the installer matters more with porcelain than with any other material.
Travertine has natural variation, no two pavers alike. Porcelain is more uniform. Neither is better, just suited to different styles: porcelain for contemporary and minimalist builds, travertine for Mediterranean, coastal and relaxed garden settings.
One of the strongest choices for Perth pool surrounds:
Large-format slabs look clean and considered, and won’t discolour from chemical exposure the way some natural stones do.
For covered or partially covered alfrescos, porcelain’s consistent colour and finish is a real benefit. Choose a rectified tile and you can run the same paver from inside to outside, or match your interior floor for a connected look. It holds up under furniture, resists food and drink stains, and needs nothing more than a sweep and an occasional hose down.
Suits formal pathways and courtyards where a clean, modern look is the goal. Larger slabs mean fewer joints and a more refined finish. Narrow side passages or heavily cut layouts cost more, since cutting porcelain accurately takes time.
Porcelain can work for driveways, but only with a paver rated for vehicle loads, minimum 20mm thick. Standard 10mm-12mm pavers won’t do. Confirm the specification before ordering, we’ll advise at your on-site quote.

Michael Tuhaka runs every project personally. Perth Landscape Guys are preferred installers for Fremantle Stone, Eco Stone and Remastone, Perth’s three most respected paver suppliers, giving better access to materials and direct technical support when needed.
All work is done in-house, no subcontracting, from site prep through to final clean-up. Porcelain installation uses wet saw cutting throughout, correct adhesive bedding and proper jointing, not the shortcuts that cause chipping, lifting or an uneven finish within a few years.
Estimates are accurate, and clients say so in reviews: the price quoted is the price charged.
No. Porcelain is non-porous, so it needs no sealing, unlike travertine and some natural stone, which need resealing every one to two years. Around a pool or outdoor kitchen, it’s easy to clean and won’t absorb staining or chemical damage.
In light colours, the difference is minimal, a few degrees at most in peak summer sun. Colour matters more than material: pale grey or white stays noticeably cooler than dark charcoal. For Perth pool surrounds, we always recommend lighter tones.
Yes, but only with a paver rated for vehicle loads, typically 20mm thick or more. Standard 10-12mm pavers won’t do. Confirm the specification before ordering, we check this during your quote.
Most residential jobs take one to three days, depending on area size and prep required. You’ll get a clear timeline with your quote.
Both work well. Porcelain wins on low maintenance, no sealing, no chemical sensitivity, and suits contemporary looks best. Travertine has natural warmth and character, and its honed or tumbled finish is very comfortable underfoot.
Yes. The pavers are included along with site prep, base work, installation and clean-up. As preferred installers for Fremantle Stone, Eco Stone and Remastone, we can source the porcelain for you.
