At this South Perth home we worked on both the back and the front of the block.
Out the back, travertine pavers frame the lap pool, with matching coping, a sun ledge at the shallow end and wide entry steps. A strip of fresh lawn runs beside the pool behind the frameless glass fence, so there is soft green to look at from the alfresco. The pale travertine keeps the whole area bright and stays comfortable underfoot in summer.
Out the front, a curving exposed aggregate path leads from the gate to the front door, with a matching path down the side of the house and an exposed aggregate driveway. New planting fills the beds either side, with salvias, grasses and flowering shrubs that suit Perth conditions and will fill out over the next couple of seasons.
It is a good example of how one team can look after the whole outdoor space, so the front and back feel like they belong to the same home. See our travertine pavers and aggregate concrete pages for more.
